SCB provides special events and courses for more senior adults who are retired, semi-retired or about to retire. Areas of Environment, Energy, Climate, Health and Safety are of interest to everyone. For example why is the electricity bill so expensive? How to use a health app and stay “forever young”? What does climate change mean to us and our grandchildren? Why do we care about Russian gas imports? Is forest protection more important than my property rights?
Once a month a seminar or event (e.g. event in Bruges, site visit, etc.) will be organized by an expert, accompanied by drinks and appetizers. When becoming an SCB member, you will be able to develop an interesting and lifelong learning network. Members can also suggest or develop courses in collaboration of SCB. The following topics are to be scheduled in 2017 – SCB holds the right to update or amend the below schedule:
What does climate change mean to us and our grandchildren?
Wat betekent klimaatverandering nu echt voor ons en onze kleinkinderen?
Explaining the electricity bill and where does electricity come from?
De electriciteitsrekening en waar komt elektriciteit van daan?
Improve the value of your house by investing in energy-efficiency versus budget
Verbeter de waarde van je woning: investeren in energie-efficiëntie versus budget
Introducing the Health App and stay “forever young”
Inleiding tot de nieuwe Health App en blijf “eeuwig jong”
Depending on the language skills of the members, the courses and/or events will be held in Dutch or English. The seminars do not require expert knowledge. A more detailed schedule will be provided upon request.
If you possess an intellectual curiosity in these areas and are willing to learn in a relaxed, informal and friendly environment, please join our community and become an SCB member! Seats are limited to a maximum of 50 persons. The seminars do not require expert knowledge and participation is possible at moderate cost (50 €/seminar).
